SilkwormIT was brought in to design and build a complete Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The manufacturing company didn’t have the budget for an off-the-shelf or licensed product but were looking for a solution that would be affordable and highly customized. SilkwormIT took the time to truly understand the problems that the company was trying to solve. We performed 1:1 interviews with employees, observed end-to-end production processes and worked with stakeholders to understand how best to integrate with existing software to alleviate bottlenecks in their production systems.
After thorough analysis, we built a custom ERP from the ground up written with open-source software, which enabled us to meet their needs and still come in on budget. The ERP also integrated with their existing software, allowing them to leverage the components of their systems that were working, and thereby provided additional cost savings. This has served the company well for many years, during which time we have continued to provide ongoing maintenance and enhancement support.
